Greetings, esteemed readers. My name is Rohit Kumar Thakur, and I hail from Madhubani, Bihar in India. Although I am a college dropout, I have a passion for coding, mobile app development, website design, and machine learning. In my spare time, I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences through writing on medium and creating YouTube videos. Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. Blast From The Past
As a member of a middle-class family, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges that can arise in terms of financial stability. Despite these challenges, my father has always been a true hero, consistently working hard and doing everything in his power to ensure that my siblings and I received a proper education. He demonstrated integrity and dignity in his actions, including taking on overtime work and borrowing money to make sure we had the resources we needed.
I have always had a natural aptitude for math, and this is something that my father, who had always dreamed of becoming an engineer, recognized and encouraged. As someone who has always been fascinated by the potential of engineering to change the world, I have pursued this field with determination. I have always been particularly interested in the ways in which AI, ML, robotics, and other emerging technologies can be utilized to improve our world.
Throughout my academic career, I have excelled in math and science, earning numerous medals in various Olympiads and achieving an impressive rank of 196 in the Junior Scientist Talent Hunt Exam. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have also enjoyed playing cricket and living life to the fullest as a fun-loving and extroverted individual.
As I prepared for the JEE exam, I faced a challenging teenage heartbreak situation, but even this difficult time was made more bearable by my time in Kota, Rajasthan. It was during this period that I truly fell in love with physics, but unfortunately, my performance on the JEE exam was not as successful as I had hoped. Determined to succeed, I persevered and was eventually able to secure a decent score on my second attempt, as well as passing other entrance exams. Excited to finally begin my college education, I looked forward to learning about subjects such as hacking, robotics, web development, AI, ML, and mobile app development.
But wait....
However, as I began my college experience, I quickly became disillusioned with the education system, feeling that I was not truly learning anything of value. Instead, I found myself consumed with the demands of completing projects, assignments, and other required coursework, while also maintaining a high attendance rate. The long commute to college (which took me two hours each way) only added to my frustration. As a result, I began to feel like dropping out of college altogether.
Fortunately, I was able to find some solace in the close friendships I developed with my fellow students, who became like brothers to me. Inspired by their support, I began to self-teach myself various subjects through online resources such as Coursera, Edx, Udemy, YouTube, blogs, and Udacity. With the help of my friends, particularly Sumit and Nikhil, I was able to learn Django (backend and frontend), Android and iOS app development (using React Native and Expo), machine learning, and Python.
After receiving a year back in my sixth semester, I made the decision to leave college and pursue my own education and career path. While my family was initially unhappy with this decision, I am confident that it was the right one for me, and I am grateful for the support and guidance of my friends throughout this journey.
My Vision My Goal
Since the beginning of my professional career, I have always harbored a desire to establish my own company. I am deeply committed to the belief that knowledge should be accessible to all individuals. As such, I have taken it upon myself to share my expertise through writing on medium and creating YouTube videos. My goal is to ensure that others do not encounter the same challenges that I faced when I was first starting out in this field.
As for my future, I am eagerly anticipating what it holds. I am currently working diligently to secure my livelihood and cover my expenses, as I am in the process of laying the foundation for my startup. This venture will be focused on the gaming industry.
